Cat eye stone Bracelet

Cat's eye takes its name from the band of light that moves across the surface of the stone as it turns — an optical effect called chatoyancy, caused by fine parallel inclusions within the stone. This bracelet strings 23 beads of it on elastic thread, so it pulls on without a clasp.

How it is worn

Worn on either wrist. In Vedic astrology cat's eye is traditionally associated with Ketu, and some people wear it on the advice of an astrologer, on a particular day or finger. Where you have specific guidance of that kind, follow it — otherwise it is simply worn as you would any bracelet.

About the material

Natural stone, so colour, banding and the strength of the cat's eye effect vary from bead to bead and between batches. The colour of the stone supplied depends on availability. Some beads will show the light band more strongly than others, which is normal in natural material.

Fine parallel inclusions inside the stone reflect light into a single band, which appears to move as the bead turns. It is a property of the stone itself, not a coating.

The thread is elastic and stretches over most adult hands. It is not adjustable in length.

How do I care for it?
Wipe with a dry or barely damp cloth. Remove it before bathing and heavy work, and avoid pulling the elastic hard when putting it on.
